We celebrated John's birthday with some dark chocolate ice cream in Boulder on our day off.

Then we headed to Aspen to play at Jazz Aspen Snowmass. Although it rained, a nice crowd showed up and danced.

After the show we went to dinner and met Lula - a gal who works on an organic farm close to Aspen. She told us about the farm she works at "Ute City Farms" and showed us the farm's awesome 2007 calendar called "Naked Garden"
We met up with Lula the next morning to visit Ute City Farms:

Then we played at the Rocky Mountain Folk Fest in Lyons for a great and attentive crowd against the beautiful backdrop of red rocks, trees and a lovely stream. The grounds were wonderfully kept and there were recycling and composting stations conveniently placed for the festival goers. This festival is really setting a standard for other festivals, making a real effort to get organic and local food producers to provide food for festival attendees and performers. It will be a great day when music festivals everywhere embrace these principles of waste reduction and support of sustainable food sources.
we also ran into our friends from New Belgium Brewery which was a real delight. Check out thier Fat Tire touring festival in your area this summer.
